Using demon blood as ink and the Compendium of a Hundred Demons as her scroll, she can paint their forms and seize their powers. Jiang Yuechu wakes one morning to find herself a young girl in the golden age of the Tang Dynasty. Beneath the moon of Chang'an, splendor and decay grow side by side; immortals and Buddhas have vanished, and demons run rampant. Fortunately, slaying creatures increases her cultivation, and by painting each demon into her compendium, she turns them into her own strength. From the Tiger Mountain God's domineering blade techniques to the Green-Faced Wolf Lord's piercing, predatory gaze. From the White Flood Dragon's mastery of water to the Black Mountain Bear Lord's crushing might! Sometimes Jiang Yuechu worries too—why does she keep gaining more and more powers?
