Lin Zhou returns to his hometown and finds his grandfather Lin Shouyi's silkworm shed about to close and the craft fading away. He decides to raise a batch himself, tending the silkworms from egg to thread. Through water shortages, a leaking roof on a rainy night, a humidity crisis, and clashes over experience, with help from Chen Mancang, Zhou Guilan, Su He, and others, the first cocoon is spun and he learns to reel silk. When buyers push down the price, he stands firm on natural color variation and consistent craftsmanship, completes a small trial order, and lets the village see a future for the old craft once more. Next season, they continue.
