The story is confined to an ordinary family living room. Husband Cheng Ye brings home a folding workbench, hoping to turn the living room into a home office, which sparks his wife Gu Ning's displeasure—she fears their private living space will be encroached upon by work. Rather than arguing or confronting each other, the two use props like a tape measure, home catalog, and color swatches to honestly voice their respective needs, sort out four categories of spatial requirements—work, rest, hobbies, and togetherness—and jointly complete a living room layout adjustment. They agree on a trial plan and explore the intimate relationship themes of spatial boundaries and mutual listening between partners.
