Ye Wuhen had his sword heart torn from him and was cast down as a cripple, left to guard Wuhen Lake for ten years. Qin Moyuan, master of the Tianhen Hall, seeks to seal the lake and extinguish the Way. Ye Wuhen discovers that beneath the lake is sealed the lingering will of the ancient Master Wuhen—and that the Way of Wuhen was severed long ago by the betrayal of Qin's own ancestors. A broken sword resonates; spirit patterns awaken. The youth he took in turns out to be his long-lost sister, and to save him she detonates the Tianhen seed within her body and dies. At last Ye Wuhen grasps the true meaning of Wuhen: he carves himself into heaven and earth as a living pattern, severs Qin Moyuan's fate-pattern, and rebuilds the spirit-pattern system—becoming an eternal reflection upon the lake.
