Double Time-Travel: A Scorned Woman's Revenge

Music producer Chen Qianyi is in a car crash, and riding in the same car is record-label boss Gu Xingchen. While being rushed to the hospital, Chen Qianyi overhears that her husband, Jiang Zhidong, has taken out an insurance policy on her and plans to marry his mistress, Wang Yijiao, using her payout—the two quietly admit to orchestrating her murder. Waking in a fury, Chen Qianyi discovers she has traveled back five years, to before her marriage. Gu Xingchen wakes up in the same hotel room and tells her that they lost control after drinking the night before, that he will take responsibility, and solemnly asks her to break up with her boyfriend Jiang Zhidong and be with him. After taking a blackmail call from Jiang Zhidong—still just her boyfriend at this point—Chen Qianyi calms down and realizes that using Gu Xingchen to dump her scumbag boyfriend is actually a pretty good plan, so she reluctantly agrees. Chen Qianyi, Jiang Zhidong, and Wang Yijiao are all music producers at the same record company, Tianxing Group, each managing their own artists—colleagues in the same department, and rivals. To escape her fate of marrying the scumbag, Chen Qianyi starts frequently rejecting Jiang Zhidong's advances and deliberately creates chances for him to be alone with his lover Wang Yijiao. Whether at meals, drinks, or wedding-dress fittings, Chen Qianyi works hard to annoy Jiang Zhidong and to highlight Wang Yijiao's virtues. Jiang Zhidong, oblivious, grows fonder of sneaking around with Wang Yijiao—yet he refuses to break up with Chen Qianyi, stubbornly convinced that Wang Yijiao is not as easy to manipulate as Chen Qianyi, and besides, he still has Chen Qianyi's gravely ill mother in his grip, a perfect puppet for blackmailing her. After all, Jiang Zhidong's father is Chen Qianyi's mother's attending physician—though his father knows nothing of what he's doing. Jiang Zhidong only wants to play around with Wang Yijiao; in the end he'd rather marry Chen Qianyi, his free nanny and cash machine. Jiang Zhidong's mother is a textbook wicked mother-in-law who demands a submissive, dutiful daughter-in-law and keeps pushing for grandchildren. Recalling her past life—five years of marriage and still no child—the wicked mother-in-law treated her even more viciously. Because of Jiang Zhidong's insistence, Wang Yijiao is forced to stay in the mistress role, and she seethes, tripping Chen Qianyi up at every turn at work, while Jiang Zhidong constantly either makes things hard for Chen Qianyi or flirts with her. Every obstacle these two create, Chen Qianyi resolves one by one with Gu Xingchen's covert help. Chen Qianyi sabotages the engagement at every turn but never quite gets her way—whether it's causing a scene with her future wicked mother-in-law at the engagement party or encouraging and guiding the mistress to pursue her scumbag boyfriend. Just after Chen Qianyi moves her mother to another hospital for treatment and takes the initiative to propose a breakup, the scheming Jiang Zhidong secretly finds her mother and coerces Chen Qianyi into marrying him. Chen Qianyi compromises, and a misunderstanding creates a rift between her and Gu Xingchen. Later, with Gu Xingchen's help, her mother is rescued and the two successfully break up. Jiang Zhidong and Wang Yijiao, fired by Gu Xingchen, learn that Chen Qianyi has entered the talent competition "Gold Medal Producer," and Jiang Zhidong eggs Wang Yijiao on to enter too, resorting to dirty tricks and malicious competition. Jiang Zhidong and Wang Yijiao can't stand to see Chen Qianyi's love life and career both blossom. In the later rounds, the two spread rumors about Chen Qianyi, ruin her performance costumes, and even assault her—but Chen Qianyi and Gu Xingchen resolve each crisis, and she makes it to the finals. Before the finals, the song Chen Qianyi prepared for Lin Wanwan is snatched up by Wang Yijiao first, and Lin Wanwan's voice is drugged by Wang Yijiao until she goes mute. In the emergency, Chen Qianyi decides to replace Lin Wanwan on stage with a pop hit that won't be famous for years, winning the final. Gu Xingchen unconsciously hums the melody, and Chen Qianyi is astonished to discover that Gu Xingchen, like her, has traveled back from five years in the future. Chen Qianyi and Gu Xingchen take the stage together and win the championship with a duet. The scumbag Jiang Zhidong and the villainess Wang Yijiao get the punishment they deserve. Chen Qianyi unexpectedly launches a career and becomes a star, and she and Gu Xingchen head toward happiness together.
