Lin Ye returns to his mountain village and finds that his grandfather Lin Shouyi has shut down the old oil press. Ignoring doubters, he starts on a barren slope, saving old tea-oil trees, planting new saplings, and fighting drought to conserve water until the trees finally bloom and bear fruit. His first pressing fails because of old seeds and rusty skills, so he relearns and corrects the process, and guards the tea fruit through a stormy night. At last the wooden press sounds again and golden camellia oil flows. Lin Ye not only revives the old oil press but also passes the craft to A Mu, completing the cycle of return, planting, failure, correction, success, and inheritance.
