Gradual Tint

Cheng Ling, a chief financial officer who decisively divorced her cheating ex-husband, discovers on the first day of new chairman Xie Lian's tenure that he is the younger man she abruptly broke up with five years ago. His first words to her are a secret phrase they once shared. But now Cheng Ling wears sleeve covers, glasses perched on her nose, and her hair tied in a dull low ponytail, mocked by the whole company for "dressing disgustingly." Cheng Ling knows that what Xie Lian loves is the woman from five years ago on Highway 318—the one with dyed hair, bold, flamboyant, and daring—not this ordinary finance officer she has become.
