Veil of Clouds, Hidden Daylight

Urban space designer Fang Rui teams up with Xiangyunsha artisan Chen He to create a set of light-and-shadow curtains for a riverside public reading pavilion. From selecting materials, dyeing and sun-drying, to sewing and on-site installation, three panels of Xiangyunsha in varying depths of shade breathe naturally in the wind and light—ultimately weaving this traditional material into modern life as a soft boundary between people and the riverbank.
