The Girl from Luofang: Building a Life in the City

This drama tells the coming-of-age, against-the-odds story of rural girl Zhang Yuling. Born and raised in her native village, Zhang Yuling grew up hearing her elders recount the brave and resilient deeds of their forebears, quietly maturing alongside the inscribed bamboo grove of the memorial hall. Shedding her youthful naivety, she refuses to fear poverty and works hard without complaint, forging in the mountains and the passing years a firm character that never gives up, never bows her head, and stays true to herself. To pursue her path in life, she bids farewell to the Luofang homeland that raised her and ventures alone into the city.
