Su San's Vindication: True to Love, True to You

In the capital, Yu Tang Chun (Su San) and the scholar Wang Jinglong fall in love at first sight. Wang Jinglong squanders his entire fortune for her and ends up destitute on the streets. Remembering their deep bond, Su San spends all her savings to help him return home for the imperial exams, and the two vow never to betray each other. Seeing no more profit to be had, the vicious madam heartlessly sells Su San to a wealthy Shanxi merchant. The merchant's wife is having an affair and conspires with her lover to poison her husband, deliberately framing Su San for the crime. The local magistrate, having taken bribes, perverts justice and extracts a confession under torture, throwing Su San into a death-row cell. Three years later, Wang Jinglong passes the imperial exam with honors and is appointed Shanxi Regional Inspector. Conducting a deep undercover investigation, he gathers ironclad evidence, overturns the wrongful verdict in open court, and severely punishes all the villains. After enduring countless hardships, he finally clears the name of his beloved and washes away her unjust grievance.
