Heart's Promise at Shapotou: A Five Elements Romance

Lin Xi, invited to Shapotou to create illustrations on the theme of the Five Elements, falls into a creative slump after her ex-boyfriend Jiang Zhe steals her work and accuses her of plagiarism. Searching for the heart's lake her grandmother spoke of—a place to calm her restlessness—she meets Gu Xun, a rational and restrained scenic-area planner, beneath the desert stars. From clashing over a mistakenly occupied camera spot to journeying together through the sand sea, the Yellow River, and the starry sky, the two weave Shapotou's earth, wood, water, fire, and metal into a warmly immersive experience route. When Jiang Zhe and Su Man join forces to stir up a public-opinion crisis, Lin Xi and Gu Xun stop running and join hands to reclaim the truth and their courage. In the end, Lin Xi takes back the name 'Xipan' and finds where her heart belongs in the vast desert.
