My Mother-in-Law Is Always Picking on Me

Urban white-collar worker Shen Qing marries Hong Yu, and at the wedding she receives an empty "name-change" red envelope from her mother-in-law, He Yulan—yet she endures it with grace. Her mother-in-law favors Hong Yu's ex-girlfriend Sun Meiqin, and when Shen Qing catches her buying luxury bags for Sun Meiqin, Hong Yu firmly steps in to defend his wife. Shen Qing accidentally overhears her mother-in-law plotting against her, but at a family gathering her tactful handling wins her the approval of relatives and friends. When her mother-in-law suffers a fracture in a car accident, Shen Qing cares for her attentively and eases the tension, while Hong Yu confesses the truth that Sun Meiqin had cheated—and mother-in-law and daughter-in-law reach a reconciliation. Later, Shen Qing and Hong Yu compete for projects on behalf of their respective companies; her mother-in-law mistakenly believes her son is having an affair and storms into the company, then feels deeply guilty upon learning the woman is a project assistant, and offers her own savings to support the couple.
